Refuse Collection, Disposal and Recycle

RefCollection Image1Solid Waste Goals
  • Maintain Federal and State laws and regulations, including meeting or exceeding the minimum 25% recycling rate as required
  • Meet the needs of the citizens of Warren County
  • Strive to be convenient and user friendly
  • Promote recycling to reduce waste and protect our environment
Overview

Warren County offers Convenience Site locations for household refuse and recyclables for residents at no charge.  The County has five citizens' Convenience Sites located throughout the County.  Bagged household waste may be disposed of at all locations, while large, bulky items must be taken directly to the Bentonville Convenience Center.  Site attendants are available for guiding residents in proper disposal and recycling and signage is posted at all locations to inform site users of allowable and restricted materials.

Commercial customers may dispose of waste at our Transfer Station also located in Bentonville.  Commercial customers are required to stop at the Scale House to be scaled prior to proceeding to the tipping floor.

Guidance for Disposal of Waste and Recycle Materials

Below you will find a chart that details what waste and/or recycling items are accepted at each of the County sites.  If the item that you are looking for is not listed on the chart, or if you have additional questions, please contact Solid Waste Manager, Jamie Lentz, at (540) 636-0794.

Warren County offers five citizens' locations throughout the County to dispose of household waste and recycle.  Bagged household waste may be disposed of at all locations, while large, bulky items other than scrap metal must be taken directly to the Bentonville Site.  Recycling centers are available at all locations with the exception of the Shenandoah Farms Compactor site.  Please note that all loads should be secured to prevent littering accidents.  Site attendants are required to inspect all loads and enforce Warren County Policy.

A valid Warren County, Town of Front Royal, or Waste Decal must be displayed (permanently affixed) in order to dispose of waste and/or recycling materials. Since the refuse sites are funded by the tax payers of Warren County, those bearing out-of-area decals will not be permitted to use the facilities without a permission letter from the Solid Waste Department.  The department issues permission letters on a case-by-case basis in order to limit misuse. You can fill out a Special Permission Request Form and submit it through this website, or you can contact our Administration Office located in Suite 100 of the Warren County Government Center, (540) 636-4600.  If you need assistance in filling out the request, please view the Instructions and Frequently Asked Questions.

Convenience Sites for Household Waste Disposal and Recycling
