Rockland Park currently includes walking trails, a large playground structure, an 18-hole disc golf course, two large picnic shelters, outdoor fitness equipment, and parking areas.
Future development will be in three phases and will include features such as a multi-field baseball/softball complex, restroom facilities, additional walking trails, dog park, amphitheater with outdoor seating, multi-use practice fields, camping areas, fire and rescue training facility, recreation center, and a possible elementary school site. Park Directions
From Front Royal traveling on Route 340/522, take a right onto Rockland Road. Travel approximately 0.7 miles, taking your second right onto Fishnet Boulevard. Signage will lead you to the intersection of Fishnet Boulevard and Rockland Park Court where you will take a right. The playground, disc golf course, picnic shelters, and parking areas will be located on your right.
Hours of Operation and Park Rules
The hours for Rockland Park are dawn to dusk. We ask that park patrons keep all pets on a leash. No alcohol is permitted at the Park. If you have questions about Rockland Park, please contact our Parks and Recreation staff by calling (540) 635-1021. For emergencies while you are at the Park, please dial 911 or contact the Warren County Sheriff's Office by calling (540) 635-4128.
Disc Golf Course
The Rockland Park Disc Golf Course is a Par 71 eighteen hole course open year-round, and there is no charge to play. The park is open from dawn to dusk each day and the course is available for large groups and tournaments. If you are interested in hosting a tournament, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 540-635-1021 for more information.
Playground and Picnic Shelters
Rockland Park is home to Warren County Parks and Recreation's newest playground development, consisting of one large play center, one toddler play center, nine slides, one net climbing tower, swingset, cornhole board station, and Harmony Outdoor Music Park. There are two picnic shelters (#13 and #14) available for rent. To reserve one of the shelters, contact the Department at 540-635-1021, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Carson Trail
Carson Trail runs from the Front Royal Golf Club to Rockland Park along the Shenandoah River. Once completed, the trail will cover 2.62 miles. While steep in a few short stretches, this gravel trail gently slopes through various loops and offers options of different paths to take.
Outdoor Exercise Stations
This multi-equipment outdoor fitness center is located adjacent the main parking area near the playground and shelters. Additional single fitness stations can be found along the end of the walking trail near the existing barn structure.
