Lions Park, one of Warren County's most popular parks, features two separate playground areas, a picnic shelter, and a central location. This playground is the perfect setting to spend time with family and friends!
This 3-acre park is located at the intersection of Warren Avenue and Commerce Avenue in the Town of Front Royal. The park is adjacent to Gertrude Miller Park and is bordered by Happy Creek, Raymond E. Santmyers Youth Center, and Dr. Seide Memorial Botanical Gardens. The park includes Fantasyland Playground, Free Wheeling Way Accessible Playground, one picnic shelter (#5), a restroom facility, horseshoe pits, and a sand volleyball court. This park offers fun for all ages! The large shelter and restroom facility were constructed in the 1970’s through donations from the Front Royal Lions Club.

Fantasyland
Fantasyland is a large wooden play structure with two swing sets, five slides, and numerous tunnels and climbing areas for children of all ages. The park was constructed in 1993 with community support. The park is open daily from dusk to dawn.
Free Wheeling Way
Free Wheeling Way Universally Accessible Playground provides children with disabilities with a safe and sensory rich playground on which they will be able to play. This expansion to the existing Fantasyland playground allows for the addition of many features including: belted swings, a scavenger hunt activity panel, three slides, a telescope and steering wheel, a sign language panel, rock wall, and music panels. Additional seating, accessible picnic tables, and a shade structure are also provided.
The project received support from the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Warren County Board of Supervisors, ARC of Warren County, the Rotary Club of Front Royal, and numerous other community businesses and organizations. A significant amount of money was also raised by Warren County Public Schools, from private citizens, and from donations given in memory of Glenn Mikulak, an 18-year-old resident of Warren County who passed away on October 19, 2010 from respiratory failure associated with his lifelong battle with muscular dystrophy.
The idea of building Free Wheeling Way began with Robin Stanley when her son Curtis, who suffered from cerebral palsy, was unable to play on existing playground structures. Mrs. Stanley promised Curt that she would one day make sure he had a playground to play on with his brother and sister. Although Curtis passed away in 2002, the passion of the Stanley family and the Free Wheeling Way Committee never stopped. Through hard work and dedication, the Committee was able to raise funds to construct this playground, which has been a wonderful addition for the citizens of Warren County.

Harmony Park
In December 2018, a Harmony Park addition was constructed, adding five structures for children to explore musical play. The funds for the project were donated by Lorraine Hultquist.
Shelter
One shelter (#5) is available for rentals. The shelter sits within steps of Fantasyland and Free Wheeling Way playgrounds, sand volleyball court, Splash Pad, and restroom facilities. This large shelter is a great option for your next birthday, reunion, or outdoor event.
