At this location you will find the Circuit Court (Criminal and Civil), General District Court (Criminal, Traffic, and Civil), and Juvenile and domestic Relations Court, along with each courts clerks office and the Warren County Commonwealth Attorney's Office.

  1. When entering the court building

    • If you have business with the courts, you will need to pass through security. This may consist of metal detectors, body wanding and pat downs. Expect inspection of bags and cases or any personal items you take with you. At any point in time even after passing through the security check point, while you are in the courthouse persons or property is subject to search. Your refusal to be searched my be grounds for you to be asked to leave the building. Failure to leave after being asked to leave may result in criminal charges.
  2. What not to bring when entering the building

    • You are not permitted to bring in firearms, knifes, chemical or electric protection devices. Any item not deemed safe by security at the time of your entry. You may be asked to return items to your car before entering in some cases. Controlled substances, paraphernalia from drug use and Alcohol are not permitted. Pets are not permitted into the building, however service animals will be allowed. Food and drinks are not permitted in the courtrooms but my be brought into the building. If you need to bring a prohibited item into the building please call court security ahead of time 540-635-1403.   3. Expected courthouse manors and attire

    • All persons entering the courtroom must dress and act in a respectful and appropriate manner indicative of the dignity of court proceedings.
    • Examples of inappropriate dress and behavior include, but are not limited to:
    • Shorts/tank tops
    • Hats, headbands or kerchiefs, except for religious or medical needs
    • Excessive/inappropriate body exposure
    • Sunglasses except for medical needs
    • Bare feet, "flip-flops", slippers
    • Clothing with wording or pictures that is/are obscene, offensive, or vulgar
    • Exposed underwear
    • Chewing gum, tobacco, drinks or food
  4. Cell Phones and Other Electronic Devices

    • Cell phones and other electronic devices (tablets, iPads, Chromebooks, laptops, and etc.) are allowed into the courthouse but there are restrictions on these devices. These device must not become disruptive to the operation of courthouse activities. There are no audio and/or video recordings to be made at anytime while inside the courthouse. Phones or electronic devices shall not be used or out while inside of the courtrooms. Failure to comply with these rules may result in the item being confiscated. If your device is needed as evidence for a court proceeding please seek permission from the judge prior to operating your device in the courtroom. All devices are subject to follow the guidelines of the courts order (Court Order - Prohibited or Restricted Activities in the Warren County Courthouse (PDF)) and a deputy at court security may deny an item being brought into the building or into the courtroom.
